ABOUT ABOUT

Maybe you meditate or Maybe you don't?!

Either way, carve out a little time and gain some peace of mind with our wellness partner Raja Yoga and Meditation Center.

We're helping individuals in the food & beverage industry improve stress-related conditions that take a toll on us in our daily work-lives.  Press pause in the constant rush of life with Cooks Who Care.  And in 90-min receive a customized introduction to meditation practices from Wes Tudor owner who will professionally focus on ways to:

  • Sharpen your mind
  • Hone your creativity
  • Gain mental clarity
  • Dial into the present

The fundamentals of posture, breath, and relaxation techniques will be emphasized.

Return to the world with a sense of peace and relaxation after a beginner’s meditation class. In an approachable setting with Raja owner, Wes Tudor, learn the mindfulness techniques that’ll ease your burden even during the most stressful services.

Explore a new healthful hobby with your two-hour break. You’ll feel right at home with like-minded industry peers who have most likely never tried this activity as well.  Gather for an easygoing entrance to the world of meditation in an intimate studio in the graduate hospital area.

Raja Yoga makes it their mission to “empower the community through the practice of yoga and meditation.” Join us in expanding that mission to the hard working food service community.

About Raja Yoga and Meditation Center of Greater Philadelphia:

Raja is a “non-profit, down to earth, cozy, neighborhood studio” at 724 S 20th St. Raja Yoga translates to “the royal path” and refers to the 8 training steps of personal evolution described in the Yoga Sutras. Raja offers an easy space to get to know the holistic benefits of yoga and meditation.

They have been noted for their work in West Philadelphia schools, by CBS Philly on a program that integrates yoga instructors to teach meditation during the school week.  Doing so creates access for those to learn important techniques within communities that need it the most.  They raise funds to hire teachers to be present in Philadelphia public schools.

This short intro video explains Raja Yoga’s nonprofit, outreach work with diverse communities. Executive Director Wes Tudor and the Raja team share yoga with neighbors who may otherwise not have access to the practice: senior citizens, elementary schools, refugees, cancer patients and other underserved people in our local community.
